Ecommerce Web Design Case Study
From idea to brick-and-mortar DIY craft bar with an e-commerce website
The Craftery is a new concept opening in the popular area of NULU in Louisville, Kentucky. The client needed full branding services, Ecommerce web design, print and digital marketing collateral, color palette for the shop, interior and exterior signage, and stencils that the crafts will be made out of.

Brand Identity Graphic Design Print Design Web DesignCreative Process
In collaboration with the client, I helped create a welcoming, modern look for the brand to help attract people hanging out at the popular breweries and shops in NULU in person, and to convert visitors to sales via their ecommerce website online.
Designing the Logo
The Three Step Logo Process
Designing the logo included three steps:
- I created many initial concepts that fit within the style the client was looking for and finalized the best of the group.
- Then, I presented the client with concepts. We discussed the client’s feedback to decide what to incorporate into the design.
- Once the overall design was finalized, we explored incorporating color into the logo. The client decided to use her full-color palette interchangeably in her logos and her brand guide.
The Final Logo
“Brittney was amazing every step of the way and so, so helpful through the whole process. I know we couldn’t have done it without her, and we are so grateful to have such a talented, smart, responsive, and hardworking designer working with us. We are excited to continue to work with her as we grow and shift our business!”

A website design that went from reserving in-person appointments to shopping onlinee
We launched the website in three phases to allow the client to gradually establish a web presence and get the necessary information out there to start building an audience and sharing about what they do. The first phase was a simple landing page with basic information. Next, we planned to launch a full informational website with reservation capabilities, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed The Craftery DIY Bar opening date. I suggested that the client open an e-commerce site where she sold craft kits online that people would have originally done in the location. I built a full e-commerce website and went live within weeks so that the client could bring in revenue while she waited to open. The final phase of the project is in progress. It will be a full website with reservation capabilities and a large e-commerce website to ship craft kits all over the USA. Stay tuned for an upate!
